The Educational Area has two public use buildings, a small fishing pond, about 300 acres of Blackland Prairie, a classroom facility and a walk through sporting clay range. HISTORIC WASHINGTON STATE PARK Features historic tours and interpretive programming daily. This 19th-century museum village includes approximately 26 different tour sites, some of the more notable being the 1836 Hempstead County, Arkansas’s Confederate Capitol, a weapons museum, finely furnished homes and a working blacksmith shop. [website] WORLD WAR II "SENTIMENTAL JOURNEY" PLAQUE Located in the Hope Municipal Airport Control Tower, this bronze memorial plaque was placed here in 1998 by the Sentimental Journey to Southwestern Proving Ground organization to commemorate the tower's use by the Army Air Corps during World War II for crews involved in bomb testing, The tower is one of nine in the U.S which services that era. |
